The origins of Network Marketing MLM
Network marketing, MLM or multi level marketing is said to have originated back in the 40s but its origins go back way further than that. Back around 1 million BC 2 cave men, one named Marvin Magma, the other named Bubba Bolder were sitting around their cave and their stomachs were grumbling from hunger. Hey Bubba said Marvin why don't we go down to the water hole and get a fish to eat. Bubba said I have been trying for a few days to get a fish but it hard to catch with your hands. The last time I was down there a T-Rex chased me and almost had me for dinner.
But you know Marvin said Bubba, I have been working on something that will make catching fish easier and faster. I took a stick and a piece of vine and made a device that can shoot a sharp stick into the water and stick a fish. The first time Bubba used it the fish got stuck and swam away. He put a small vine on the sharp sharp stick and when he shot the fish he reeled it in and ran back to the cave to cook up some fresh fish.
Every day Marvin and Bubba would go down to the water hole and catch a couple of fish. One day a cave man from a neighboring cave saw what they were doing and asked Bubba if he could make him one. Marvin grabbed Bubba and whispered in his ear, hey you might be on to something. I will help you make the fishing device and we will sell it to other cave men and make a fortune. Bubba agreed and told the other caveman it would be 1 fish for every fishing device we make. Why don't we call it a bow and arrow for now.
Soon word got around about Bubba and Marvins device and a small business was born. Bubba was the outdoors type and was always coming up with other devices for catching food. He took a long stick and put a point on it and called it a spear. Wading in the water made it difficult to spear fish so Marvin and Him built a boat out of old logs and vines. Floating in the boat made fishing with the spear so much easier. They had an abundance of fish from the bow and arrow so they needed something else for the spear and boat invention.
They decided on fruit for payment on the spear and boat plans. It wasn't long until word spread about Bubbas inventions and the food was piling up. Marvin got an idea about spreading their inventions around the valley. Why don't we have people show our inventions around the valley and offer them some fish and fruits for their efforts.(There you have the beginning of MLM

Before long Bubba and Marvin had more fish,fruits,vegetables and deer meat then they could eat, so they took in a couple of cave women to help them eat the excess food. They were so popular that they didn't need to go out and beat a woman over the head to get a date. Hot looking cave babes were lined up at the door waiting. Bubba and Marvin had so much that they took on several women.
One day Marvin and Bubba was sitting at the outside of the cave and Marvin turned to Bubba and said, I wonder what is over that big hill over there. Bubba said I don't know but it is too far and too dangerous to find out. Just then Bubba got an idea and said hey Marvin follow me. They ran down to a big tree and Bubba looked up and said, here Marvin hold my rockweiser, I have an idea. He pulled a funny smoke out of his pocket that he got from a local stoner and said I will be right back.
He climbed up the tree and looked to make sure momma pterodactyl wasn't around. He then lit up his stoner smoke and blew the smoke into the baby pterodactyls face. The baby got all giggly and came right over to Bubba. He grabbed the baby and climbed down the tree while blowing smoke at the babys face. They took the baby back to the cave and began training it to fly with them on it's back. They used stoner smoke and rockweiser to train the baby to listen to their commands.
One day Bubba blew some smoke in the pterodactyls face and gave him a glass of rockweiser and they were ready for a trial run. Bubba made a saddle so he could sit safely without falling off. After a few trial runs they flew over the mountain and landed by a row of caves. The cave people were all excited and glad to see them but were all hungry.
Bubba taught a few of the cave dwellers how to make bow and arrows and how to make a boat out of logs. Soon there was more and more cave dwellers wanting to build boats and use bow and arrows for hunting. Bubba and Marvin had to get more pterodactyls and other flying animals to keep up with the demand of the business. They flew over the mountain several times a week for training and product improvement.
Like all good things that come along for people someone is bound to get jealous and make waves. On day a group of animal activists sat out in front of Marvin and Bubbas cave to protest creuelty to animals. This went on for a few days until a couple of T-Rex came by and had a little snack. Marvin turned to Bubba and said, I wonder where those T-Rex came from they usually don't come by the cave. Bubba just sat there with a silly grin on his face and said I have no idea.
We have something way better then a traditional Network Marketing Business. You see most people who join a MLM company never recruit more than 2 or 3 people. Besides most MLM companies have high priced products.

Why you should be using email marketing to promote your MLM business
99% of people who join an MLM never make a dime because they never get any training on what to do. Most recruiters just sell them a kit and tell them to make a list of their warm market. Training is the #1 important ingredient for MLM success. How to recruit and how to build a list of people chasing you down for your opportunity is what you need to be taught.
If you are not using email marketing or you are and not getting results, step back, take a deep breath and repeat "I can make peoples lives better with email". 97% of people who use email are not thinking of the customer, only whats in it for them. If you try to build a list of customers and only try to sell them something, well frankly they are going to drop you faster than a hot potato.

Tell them anything but try to help them solve a problem they have. Don't worry about the money because that will come. The more people you help the more money you will make so don't get greedy.

Why I switched from wordpress to blogger
I had 2 blogs, one about small business marketing and one about food. I would write once or twice in each one every week or 2 to share what I am passionate about. I had several followers and was selling a few affiliate products here and there but selling was not my main goal just a side effect.
One day I tried to log into my blog and the website said "Your account has been suspended" contact your web host for more information. I sent a support ticket to my host and as usual they took their sweet time about getting back to me.
According to them I have been sending out thousands of emails from my hosting account. I replied back and said I don't even send emails to anyone so how could that be. After they jerked me around for a couple of days they came back with someone had hacked my account through wordpress and sent thousands of spam emails.
I said why did you not contact me and give me a heads up so I could of done something sooner. Their reply was, you have a shared ip address and we did not want to have it black listed. They said the only way to set it back up was to wipe out the whole thing and start from scratch.
I have worked hard at getting this blog going and did not want to start again. They sent me a backup copy of my website that was in a funky format that i could not find a program to open it with. I then figured if I have to start all over why not just get a new web host so this did not happen again.
I searched for webhosts and what I found was heart breaking. Most wanted a year in advance at $10 a month or had a introductory special that after a month the price went up 3 to 4 times. I knew there had to be someone out there who had hosting at a great price.
Well low and behold I ran across a web host that even had the option for your own ip address which i quickly scooped up. Their yearly price was cheaper than the other guys monthly price.
The best part is they were cheaper than the last host I had with a shared ip address. Make your way over to the website and check out all the great features and the super cheap price. Another plus is they also have an affiliate program so you share them with your friends and pick up some extra cash when they sign up.

Why you should drink plenty of water every day
Through out your busy day as an entrepreneur or even if you work for someone, you need to keep your body hydrated. Simply drinking the right amount of water every day can change your life and your health.
I remember one time while driving along in my company van water saved my life. I slowed down to take a drink of water and it's a good thing I did. A car came around the corner in my lane and had I not slowed down to drink water, I would of hit the other car head on. This is a true story!
Water helps your body by controlling your appetite, improving brain function and lubricating your joints. That right there is a good reason to drink more water. Many people suffer from achy joints and drinking McDonalds $1 soda do nothing for lubricating squeaky joints.

Do You Suffer From BADD and is it Managable
You may be asking yourself, what in the world is BADD and do I have it. I came up with the phrase after thinking about what could be wrong with me. I can never seem to focus on one business opportunity at a time. After thinking about it I came up with the name Business Attention Deficit Disorder or BADD.
One of my daily chores was glancing through the classified ads for business opportunities. Even though I already had a business I worked from at home I still had this uncontrollable urge to look for something bigger and better. As far back as I can remember this has always been a problem for me. If I find a business I like and start working it, I always give up if I don't make a bunch of money in a couple of weeks. In fact it is so bad that people who know me ask, what business are you working this week Mark.
Looking through classified ads and clicking on links that takes me to a new opportunity got my blood pumping. I know it was killing my financial life but it takes over me like a ghost controlling my every move. I even did a little research to see if other people have the same problem as me. Much to my surprise, there were thousands of people who have the same trouble focusing on one thing at a time. Do we call them multi taskers or do they just lack the ability to focus on 1 thing at a time
I went back through the favorites bar on my computer and started clicking old links I had saved. 3 out of every 5 links I clicked on was a dead end link. You know what was really crazy about these links, they were less than a year old. That means most people don't give anything a chance to build up before they try something else.
My research took me to the search engines for an experiment. I did a search for a popular search term and started clicking on the organic results. I went back a couple of pages on the search results just to get an idea of how many dead links there were. Did you know there were people who had their websites listed on page 1 and 2 who were no longer active on their websites. Do you know how much money they could be making if they just stuck around a little while longer.
This experiment got me thinking about how I should approach being an entrepreneur. If you are going to be successful at anything you have to stick with it no matter how long it takes. You could close your shop tomorrow and the day after that your biggest client could come along. I found out the hard way that all those new opportunities were all the same. The promise of big money in a short time. Success takes time and patience.
Take the time and plan your business and set budgets and goals. Do some research and find out who your customers are and how to get them to visit your website or store. If you are an affiliate for a product, don't use the company cookie cutter website to get customers. Send them to a page you made or someone else made for you. I use a lead capture page and give them something of value.
If its your dream to be successful on the internet or with a store front then now is the time to start. Do you know why most people never have any success. Because they never take any action. Take some action and stay focused on your business. It is a lot of work being an entrepreneur, but you will enjoy the ride.

Make the most of mobile marketing and Google
Advertising your business successfully using mobile marketing requires time, patience and Google know how. If you are not incorporating Google in your marketing, start right now. The king of online search has an arsenal of tools available to grow your business. Don't be in a hurry and take the Rome was not built in a day approach and give it time. Many business owners search online for the latest and greatest marketing system if the one they are using don't work right away. The term I use for this is SOS or shiny object syndrome.
As you have seen all over the internet, mobile phone marketing is burning up the web with no end in sight. Marketers and business owners are scrambling to get the latest and greatest hyped up information about making money with mobile marketing. Being a mobile marketer I always look for new ways to inform my clients about new technology.
It really ticks me off when I encounter a flashy website with all this hype about a new launch of the greatest mobile marketing business ever. Every so often I buy one just to check it out. I came across one just the other night that was just another network marketing company in disguise. They claimed to have the best pay plan, but in reality it was just another hype company trying to get your money.
Over the years I have tried one shiny object after another and discovered something. The one with the simple plan was the one that worked the best. To many marketers go from one big launch to another only to be disappointed in the end. In fact I got so fed up with all the rehashed launches, That I did some research and made my own successful mobile marketing plan.
One of the best places I stopped is the Google website and looked up mobile marketing. Google will give you most everything you need to make a successful campaign using smart phones and it is free. Google does not have everything for mobile marketing, but there are a couple of places that you can look to get some great ideas to combine smart phones and Google.
After months of research and late nights the plan came together. In all reality putting together a marketing plan for mobile phones was simple once I had all the pieces together. No matter what plan you decide to use keep it simple.
